WHAT TYPE OF EYESIGHT PROBLEMS CAN BE TREATED WITH LASER?

There are several eye correction treatment options available, specifically designed to address various vision errors, including:

  • Farsightedness (hyperopia)

  • Nearsightedness (myopia)

  • Astigmatism, characterized by corneal curvature that leads to blurry vision

  • Age-related vision changes (presbyopia)

We also carefully consider significant factors such as corneal thickness and the presence of other eye conditions, including dry eyes, cataracts (clouding of the lens), and issues affecting the retina.

Below, you can learn about the different types of vision correction surgeries we offer.

FEMTOSECOND LASIK SURGERY

Femtosecond Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, commonly known as FS-LASIK, is the leading choice for a pain-free surgical solution to correct farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism. Many patients enjoy immediate visual improvement and can resume work as early as the next day.

The procedure is quick and efficient, taking only about 5 to 10 minutes per eye. It begins with a laser creating a thin flap in the cornea, which is then temporarily lifted to allow another laser to precisely reshape the cornea and enhance vision.

Experience the freedom of clearer sight with FS-LASIK!

TRANS-EPITHELIAL PRK

Trans-Epithelial PhotoRefractive Keratectomy, or Trans-PRK, is a fantastic option for individuals with thin corneas or other conditions that may exclude them from LASIK eligibility. This innovative procedure involves the swift and painless removal of the outermost layer of the cornea using a laser, followed by the immediate reshaping of the stromal bed to correct vision.

To support healing, a special contact lens is placed on the cornea, typically allowing for recovery within three days. The entire procedure is quick, taking only about 2 to 3 minutes per eye.

Discover the benefits of Trans-PRK and achieve clearer vision!

REFRACTIVE LENS EXCHANGE SURGERY

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) surgery is similar to cataract surgery and is a procedure that many individuals may need during their lifetime. In RLE, the eye's natural lens is replaced with a biocompatible artificial lens, customized to match the patient's precise vision prescription. This option is particularly beneficial for those who may not qualify for surface laser procedures, offering reliable and consistent results.

The procedure typically lasts around 15 minutes per eye, and both eyes can be treated on the same day or within a few days of each other.

The implanted lens effectively corrects refractive errors, providing clear distance vision without the need for glasses or contacts. Additionally, advancements in intraocular lens technology, such as enhanced depth of focus (EDOF) and multifocal lenses, enable correction for near vision (presbyopia), allowing patients to enjoy greater independence from spectacles or contact lenses.

IMPLANTABLE COLLAMER LENS SURGERY (ICL)

In this procedure, an implantable collamer lens is positioned between the eye's natural lens and the iris. Crafted from a blend of plastic and collagen, this lens enhances the natural lens's ability to refract light onto the retina, much like a contact lens, providing clear vision for both distance and near.

This option is ideal for patients with dry eyes, irregular corneal surfaces, or strong prescriptions that may render them unsuitable for laser correction surgery.

The procedure is quick and typically takes about 15 minutes per eye.
